Fiori e Colori

Flowers and Colors

The little prince witnessed the opening of a huge bud and felt that a miraculous apparition would come, but the corolla lingered, and made itself beautiful, closed in his green room. He carefully chose the colors. He dressed slowly, arranging the petals one by one. He didn’t want to come out all wrinkled like poppies do. He only wanted to show himself in the full splendor of his own beauty. Oh yeah! She was very vain. Her secret toilet had lasted days and days. And here one morning, with the rising of the sun, a rose had appeared. ” [The Little Prince, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry]

Making these images immediately made us think of the Little Prince and his rose: we too wanted to make each of these flowers unique, enhancing it and interpreting it with lights and colors.

Flowers are perhaps one of the most portrayed subjects by artists, painters and photographers, but learning to master the still life technique is a major challenge!

Training the gaze is perhaps the first aspect to start from, we must then build the composition, manage the light and colors to convey the message we want to convey to the observer and be able to answer the question “Does our image tell a story?”
