Jake Fried è un animatore che vi lascerà senza parole:
hallucinatory panoramas
Jake Fried is an animator who will leave you speechless:
hallucinatory panoramas created with black ink, hypnotic animations that evolve at a frenetic pace, detailed works made entirely by hand, frames after frames, collages, paintings and even coffee grounds. An artistic production difficult to describe, from which it is impossible to look away!
What makes its production unique is the overcoming of the static nature of the image: in Fried’s work, we can see art come to life while ideas, shapes and motifs transform before our eyes.
Brain Wave is one of the last creations of this artist, in which a single drawing is reworked 1,440 times: a project that required a good seven months of work for its realization. Seven months of creative development, without following a precise storyboard, in which Brain experimented and let himself be carried away by the process, allowing the film to take shape, naturally developing: “There is an intrinsic logic or rhythm that emerges while I work, I developed an instinct particular to understand when the next frame is ready to be scanned “, he says.
Centered both literally and narratively around a single evolving face, the short animation accompanies the viewer through a wide range of emotions, settings and themes. Because each frame is a new work of art, the piece as a whole seems instantaneous to a dream that has been remembered, recreated and reassembled.
