Kaleidoscope

If the meaning of “photography” is “writing with light,” it goes without saying that without light it would be impossible to photograph. We have always maintained this: experimenting with light is the essence of photography.

And in making these images we really left room for creativity and experimentation.

Intensity, quality, temperature and direction are the characteristics to consider when we think about a lighting scheme. If the meaning of intensity, temperature and direction is fairly intuitive, what do we mean by light quality? The manuals tell us that it refers to the difference between hard light and soft light: hard light results in strong contrasts dark and bright areas, while soft light is characterized by being diffuse, with little shadowing.

To make these photographs, we played with these aspects, but also with colors and shapes to add personality and creativity to the images. Do we alone feel like we are in a big kaleidoscope?

Kaleidoscope
