An NFT – non-fungible token is “a special type of token, representing the deed and certificate of authenticity, written on blockchain, of a unique asset (digital or physical); non-fungible tokens are therefore not mutually interchangeable.”
This is the Wikipedia definition (https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-fungible_token): but what does it mean? It is a particular type of token characterized by being “Unique and unrepeatable” that cannot be exchanged for other identical tokens. This is possible because each NFT is characterized by the presence of a unique internal code, written on blockchain and visible to all.
One of the areas where NFTs have found application is in the art world, functioning as certificates of authenticity for non-tangible works.
It all began with the auction sale for $545,000 of Nyan Cat, the famous cat that leaves a rainbow trail. The question arises, “How do you own digital content that can be enjoyed by everyone for free online?” The answer is NFTs, a kind of digital signature capable of revealing the authenticity of a work.
It is certainly a fascinating world, one that intrigued us to the point of trying to make our own NFT! To do what with it? Obviously to try to sell it online, as everyone does. We, however, would like to do something different: donate the entire proceeds to charity. For years, in fact, we have been supporting and carrying out social and educational projects in the area, particularly through the Rotary Club: we are convinced that this could be a new way to ensure continuity in our efforts.

Un NFT – non-fungible token è “un tipo speciale di token, che rappresenta l’atto di proprietà ed il certificato di autenticità, scritto su catena di blocchi, di un bene unico (digitale o fisico); i gettoni non fungibili non sono quindi reciprocamente intercambiabili”.

Si tratta di un particolare tipo di token caratterizzati dall’essere “Unici e irripetibili” che non possono essere scambiati con alti token identici. Questo è possibile perché ogni NFT è caratterizzato dalla presenza di un codice interno univoco, scritto su blockchain e visibile da tutti.
Uno degli ambiti in cui hanno trovato applicazione gli NFT è quello del mondo dell’arte, funzionando come certificati di autenticità per le opere non tangibili.
Tutto ebbe inizio con la vendita all’asta per 545 mila dollari di Nyan Cat, il famoso gatto che lascia una scia arcobaleno. La domanda sorge spontanea: “Come si fa a possedere un contenuto digitale fruibile da tutti gratuitamente online?” La risposta sono gli NFT, una sorta di firma digitale capace di rivelare l’autenticità di un’opera.
Un mondo sicuramente affascinante, che ci ha incuriosito al punto di provare a realizzare un nostro NFT! Per farne cosa? Ovviamente per provare a venderlo online, come fanno tutti. Noi, però, vorremmo però fare qualcosa di diverso: devolvere l’intero ricavato in beneficienza. Da anni, infatti, sosteniamo e portiamo avanti progetti sociali e formativi sul territorio, in particolare attraverso il Rotary Club: siamo convinti che questo possa essere un nuovo modo per garantire continuità al nostro impegno.
