Modellazione 3D vs Fotografia
La fotografia è un’area in cui la CGI si sta dimostrando particolarmente potente. Dalla fotografia automobilistica alla fotografia di architettura, stiamo vedendo sempre più esempi di CGI usati di pari passo con la fotografia, e parte del motivo di ciò è che consente agli artisti di realizzare visioni che non sarebbero state ottenibili con una sola fotocamera .
La fotografia è spesso limitata dalla fisica e non possiamo infrangere queste leggi. Nel nostro studio abbiamo provato a ricreare un semplice still life di un contenitore di legno con noci e nocciole su un fondo di legno antico.Quello che ci interessava non era ricreare luci d ombre ma arrivare ad un grado di veridicità’ nella texture dei prodotti, e mi sembra che il risultato sia interessante.
Altri vantaggi di CGI includono costi di spedizione ridotti, soprattutto nell’automotive dove lo spostamento dell’auto in sala posa o nella location diventa veramente molto costosa, o, prodotti che devono essere ripresi non devono essere acquistati o inviati al fotografo. Il ritocco è più rapido e più semplice che se fosse stato fotografato: si tratta di aprire un file, apportare modifiche o aggiungere / rimuovere elementi anziché ricreare un intero scatto.
3D modeling vs Photography
Photography is an area where CGI is proving particularly powerful. From automotive photography to architectural photography, we are seeing more and more examples of CGI used hand in hand with photography, and part of the reason for this is that it allows artists to create visions that would not have been achievable with a single camera.
Photography is often limited by physics and we cannot break these laws. In our studio we tried to recreate a simple still life of a wooden container with walnuts and hazelnuts on an ancient wooden background. What we were interested in was not recreating lights of shadows but reaching a degree of truthfulness in the texture of the products, and it seems to me that the result is interesting.
Other advantages of CGI include reduced shipping costs, especially in the automotive sector where the shipment of the car in the laying room or in the location becomes very expensive, or the products that must be taken back must not be purchased or sent to the photographer. Retouching is faster and easier than if it had been photographed: it is about opening a file, making changes or adding / removing elements rather than recreating an entire shot.
