The photo project “EIGHT BETULLE EXPERIENCE” was created as an overture for the book of poems and thoughts “8 Birches” by artist Alla Chiara Luzzitelli aka Alicka.
The photographs presented are meant to illustrate some of the verses in the book by finding the figure of the wind as a common denominator. Nature lives in the words of the artist’s texts: the wind, the sun, the leaves are all pieces of a seemingly disconnected puzzle.
The key to interpretation lies precisely in the atmospheric events that expedient the most introspective, profound narrative that speaks of the artist and his emotional condition.The self-portraits are the result of multiple techniques that the artist likes to use in his works.Analog photography is married with digital post-production that makes the works take on a dreamlike and earthly feeling at the same time.The prints were made on Hahnemühle Photo Rag Baryta paper that combines a smooth surface with an original baryta finish. The barium sulfate used for the coating allows this paper to ensure the typical brilliance of traditional baryta papers.

Le fotografie presentate vogliono illustrare alcuni dei versi del libro trovando come comune denominatore la figura del vento. La natura vive nelle parole dei testi dell’artista: il vento, il sole, le foglie sono tutte tessere di un puzzle apparentemente disconnesso.
La chiave di lettura sta proprio negli eventi atmosferici che espediscono il racconto più introspettivo, profondo, che parla dell’artista e della sua condizione emotiva.Gli autoritratti sono frutto di molteplici tecniche che l’artista ama utilizzare nei sui lavori.La fotografia analogica si sposa con la post-produzione digitale che fa assumere alle opere una sensazione onirica e terrena allo stesso tempo.Le stampe sono state realizzate su carta Hahnemühle Photo Rag Baryta che combina una superficie liscia con un’originale finitura baritata. Il solfato di bario usato per il rivestimento permette a questa carta di assicurare la tipica brillantezza delle carte baritate tradizionali.
