The description of a moment
Today we want to share with you this triptych: three images, three portraits that together become narrative.
We often hear in photography about diptychs or triptychs: but what does it mean? Definitely more than just putting two or three photos together.
In fact, it is not only about aesthetics, but also – if not especially – about meaning: it is not enough, in fact, that two photographs “look good together,” but something more is needed. The secret lies in the narrative, in what we want to tell the viewer. We can compose a triptych with contrasting images, or our images can show visual coherence: they may have been taken at the same time or in different places and times. It all depends on the author’s intentions.
In this case,”The description of a moment” our triptych consists of three portraits, taken at the same time, consistent with each other. It is a short time sequence: “the description of a moment” that tells us about moods and emotions.

Oggi vogliamo condividere con voi questo trittico: tre immagini, tre ritratti che insieme diventano narrazione.
Spesso in fotografia sentiamo parlare di dittici o trittici: ma cosa significa? Sicuramente qualcosa di più che mettere vicine due o tre foto.
Non si tratta infatti solo di estetica, ma anche – se non soprattutto – di significato: non basta, infatti che due fotografie “stiano bene insieme”, ma è necessario qualcosa di più. Il segreto sta nella narrazione, in quello che vogliamo raccontare a chi osserva. Possiamo comporre un trittico con immagini in contrasto tra loro oppure le nostre immagini possono mostrare una coerenza visiva: possono essere state scattate nello stesso momento o in luoghi e tempi differenti. Tutto dipende dalle intenzioni dell’autore.
In questo caso il nostro trittico è composto da tre ritratti, realizzati nello stesso momento, coerenti tra loro. Si tratta di una breve sequenza temporale: “la descrizione di un attimo” che ci racconta stati d’animo e emozioni.
